Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a period of National Mourning has started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. This is a period of time for reflection in response to the death of the Sovereign.
The official date of the State Funeral is 19 September 2022. This day will be regarded as bank holiday and as a mark of respect we will be closed on this day.
School will be open during the National Mourning period and normal attendance is expected, other than the bank holiday on Monday 19th September.
We feel shock and sadness for the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She has been steadfast and a constant throughout our lives, providing a lifetime of service with humility, humour, dignity and duty. The world has lost one of its shining stars... Rest in peace Ma'am.
Today we held an assembly to think who Queen Elizabeth II was and everyone had the chance to share what memory they had of the her or what she meant to them. It was lovely! Pupils wore red, white and blue to show our love and respect to celebrate her reign. Also, as our Queen loved her horses and dogs, they brought in their favourite cuddly dog or cuddly horse.
